Shop Popeye!, on a rug for your home

Popeye is one of those dogs that has bonded to several volunteers (who report that he is affectionate, goofy, bouncy, and a master fetcher), but who doesn't show well in his kennel at all. He thrives with routine, as many smart, energetic dogs do, and much of his shelter stress melts away once he leaves the loud, barking environment of the shelter. He has been easy to handle on walks, polite on a leash, calm and friendly.

Popeye currently participates in muzzle training during playgroup and is learning how to interact with other dogs while keeping everyone safe. He's made some small improvements but would likely do best in a home without other dogs, and would benefit from continued training before being introduced to other dogs.

Speaking of training, Popeye has a commitment from a wonderful trainer, Gail Smith, who will provide in-home training to help with the transition for either a foster or adopter. An adopter will receive even more benefits. Gail is a wonderful person, who loves these dogs very much, and it shows in how the blossom under her tutelage. Having her personal attention during a home transition would be amazing.

Popeye is a victim of the overcrowding situation at PACC. While our census is over 450 dogs, he will have a deadline 12/3. Adopting or fostering Popeye through PACC will save his life. If Popeye doesn't match your home, fostering or adopting another one of the amazing dogs (and PACC has hundreds right now!) will also help to save his life! There are lots of ways to help, and even just sharing Popeye so the right person will see his post is appreciated.
